Pretty Shop Items...

Stocking the http://paperfish.etsy.com/ shop ready for the upcoming SALE DAY!!
I know i have been making PinPots and NeedleBooks for an age now,
but i really love these designs. They are good designs and so pretty
(in my humble opinion)
I had a very calm and relaxing sewing weekend and it felt so good to make things
'just because i like them'
and not because they are ordered.
It is so satifying to trawl through my own stash and ribbons and trims,
rather than selling stash.
And it is SO satisfying when people love these items and i know they will sit in someone elses sewing box or on their table and inspire their pure joy of creating.

I think this PinPot in Spring Yellows and Pinks is my current Favourite.
The tags at the top of this post are so quick and easy to make.
I am selling a few packs, but really, they are not rocket science and the idea is just to inspire and encourage peeps who love crafting. Whilst the weather is a bit drizzly, it is nice to stay in indoors with a bit of cosy sewing or crochet or knitting or gluing or....
Happy 2012!
Keep an eye on the blog for Full Details of my amazing ETSY SALE DAY!

ooooh, they're *new*...

It is amazing how quickly i turn an idea, into a product, for myself, and then some more for sale... it is like a 'compulsion' - i swear, i need help!

I love my PinPots for the individuality and quirkiness... but i wanted a cushion for my pins to go in my new travel sewing basket (see previous blog post to this!) ... as the PinPots were more for my sewing table. I use loads of pins as i am always pinning items together in "anticipation" of sewing, and then leaving them like that for weeks. So, i found some of the sweetest fabrics i had in my stash that seemed to have gone unused for a while or were too small for much else. Then i decided to make a cushion (or 10).
I am so pleased with how they look :)
BUT,,,, that isn't even my favourite bit!
They are stuffed with polystuffing AND gorgeous organic lavender. So even if it sits in my travel basket or in my fabric stash for a while, it is still doing a job. Making everything smell subtley sweet.

I am slowly listing a few of these for sale:
HERE on etsy
HERE on Folksy
and some i am keeping for my next big Craft Market which is the "MaKe" event in Milton Keynes.
Below is the reverse on some cushions, with a lovely cotton flower.
There is a ribbon tag on each cushion as part of my design style but also so you can hang the cushion on your NeedleBook if you want to.
Summersville avenue fabric has worked really well as a little cushion - possibly my favourite.

And photographed with a bits and pieces from my vintage haberdashery and stationary hoarde.

I do apologise if a bore anyone with my endless pincushions and craft talk, but it is my life you see. It is what makes me happiest (after kissing my little girl to bed) x

PinPot Progress...

PinPot progress has been somewhat interrupted due to the snow....
"What has SNOW got to do with PinPots?"... i might be missing a key photo here that could explain. I hang the pots along my washing line when they are getting painted and dried... so the line that was hung out have frozen.. and a few got cracked in teh freeze :(

I managed to make a few new beauties to put in the shops, before the snowfall. I get obsessed with making these as they just look so cute! And i always have scraps of fabric that i want to do something useful with.

There are a few new designs here to match some of the NeedleBooks.

I know i have said it a million times before, but..... i just LOVE making stuff.

Happy Snow Days - i am a bit bored of them now and want the roads cleared.... x be safe!

Gimme Gimme Gimme - GIVE AWAY!

It's high time i had a GIVE AWAY on my blog - don't you think?!
I have been meaning to do one for a long time so apologies it hasn't arrived sooner.
And just LOOK at the lovely pile of Woodland Whimsy... A Woodland PinPot!
Charming little fella that can sit on your sewing table and hold your pins neatly in place. I use mine all the time and love it to bits.
There is also a pile of Woodland Butons for you to use: Reds, browns, greens and the odd dotty surprise PLUS a giant button...

And a little mini pile of woodland-esque felt to use for something fun?
... and last, but by no means least, these 2 super cute wooden pegs. One has a tree design on top and the other and toadstool house (very kawaii or decole)

I am possibly too kind, i know :) but generosity is in my nature.
So, to ENTER: simply leave me a comment (a pleasant one please) and even tell me what you think my blog should have more of / less of to help me improve it. Also... leave your EMAIL ADDRESS or how will i know how to contact you if you win? No catch - entries from worldwide happily accepted.
A genuine draw will take place - (i'm real honest) - and i will let you all know after midnight UK time on Saturday 30th May.
Thanks for joining in the fun x

Featured on Folksy

Hey... I meant to tell you... and have been getting round to it for ages... THIS month, I am 'Featured Seller' on FOLKSY
Thanks a million to the gents at Folksy and to Sally x FOLKSY is a UK site through which crafters can sell their amazing handmade treasures. It is a new site but already coping well with its listings / shops / sales.

Each month, for a whole month, there are four featured sellers on the Front / Home Page who rotate and you get your shop bigger 'exposure' as people are more likely to see your items and get tempted into the online shop.

I haven't got nearly the range of stock listed as i have on ETSY - i think that would be impossible for me :) but i have put all my favourite onto FOLKSY.

Why have yet another online selling venue for your stuff KirstyFish??? Well my friends, Folksy is listed in ££££ GBP so that makes it a little less intimidating for some users who don't like (understandably) to shop in $$$$ USD.
And .... soon .... i'll figure out how to get a button on my blog that links you directly to the UK shop... ha!
Chat soon crafters x

... Parcels going to the 'Nice' Post Office, where people are 'nice' and the experience is 'nicest' x

What's new KFish?

New Year... a few new crafty products...
Firstly my Matroyshka 'squashy' broorch that has been waiting to be listed in the PaperFish store for agggeeesss but i was busy... (other colourways also available HERE) A positive plethora of new PinPots to be arriving slowly into the New Year...

Oooh, new fabrics to play with x but these are for me not you (sorry x)

And my new 'Juicy Pup' NeedleBook - totally in love with the new tropical colourways of the needlebooks and especially using the cute Dachsund puppy fabric (dog lovers unite here)
And another BUTTON option that has been ready for listing for so long. Forgive my tardy nature but they are HERE now x

Pin Pots & Creative Zombie Mode...

Hooray for having quite an extensive product range... that is to say, i just cannot commit myself to making just one or two products! My mind gets over-active and i get an overwhelming urge to just MAKE stuff. I haven't had a Pin-Pots 'urge' for ages and i even thought about stopping them altogether! (shock horror) But recently i felt a need to make some more so....

Here are 2 or 3 that already made it into the BigFish shop.
I do plan on putting a few on Folksy too but i never seem to find enough spare minutes in the day.

ABOVE: Works in progress!
BELOW: This truned out to be my favourite photo from the little 'photo shoot'. They look so cute and colourful.

I am happy i managed to get inspired to make some more. I am going to make another 20 pots from here so i have a few in the PaperFish travelling store over the Spring and Summer. There is also an awesome design (in its infancy yet) for a toadstool!

Then i wondered if i could make one in that lovely tea cup fabric i used for the needlebooks...
*** Kirsty wanders off ... with a glazed look in her fish eye.... thinking about fabrics and colourschemes...
The kitchen is a mess and the dog is eating cold chicken from the dinner table, but nothing can interrupt creative zombie mode.....***
