A Pretty English Country Wedding....

I thought you ladies might like to see a few of these?
I happend to be passing through the preparations for an 'English Country Wedding' in my local village. My mum was there hanging the bunting so i popped in.
What an overwhelming array of amazing tea cups - i so wish i had found the time to photograph each one. They were all begged, borrowed and stolen from local villagers - many sets having been wedding gifts to those ladies some 50 years previously.

I could have taken quite a few of these pretty little sets home in my basket, had it not been for the fact that i do know the bride and the ladies who donated the tea cups, so i could have lost a few good neighbour points. But it was a moment of bliss.

I feel the need for a Jumble Sale and a Car Boot rummage coming on.... despite the fact i have a few boxes of tea sets sat wrapped in my garage.
There are so many amazing chintzy designs to discover *sigh*
And this was the official - wedding Breakfast! You're right to hate me for not getting any shots of the tea pots that arrived and triple tiered vintage cake stands... the sugar bowls and milk jugs.
Yes, this IS the sort of village where a man walks his Shire Horse every morning and people talk about breeding bullocks over the shop counter, collecting their morning paper.
(we don't just buy "local eggs" round here, we can practically name every hen they came from!)
So, moving house has been a somewhat hellish experience in many ways - but how could i ever complain? This is the sort of village i have arrived in, and it rather suits me, don't you think?
Notice me, sat, with the teacup in hand whilst my poor 'ole Mam is struggling up a ladder in the background. teehee xxx

Pin Pots & Creative Zombie Mode...

Hooray for having quite an extensive product range... that is to say, i just cannot commit myself to making just one or two products! My mind gets over-active and i get an overwhelming urge to just MAKE stuff. I haven't had a Pin-Pots 'urge' for ages and i even thought about stopping them altogether! (shock horror) But recently i felt a need to make some more so....

Here are 2 or 3 that already made it into the BigFish shop.
I do plan on putting a few on Folksy too but i never seem to find enough spare minutes in the day.

ABOVE: Works in progress!
BELOW: This truned out to be my favourite photo from the little 'photo shoot'. They look so cute and colourful.

I am happy i managed to get inspired to make some more. I am going to make another 20 pots from here so i have a few in the PaperFish travelling store over the Spring and Summer. There is also an awesome design (in its infancy yet) for a toadstool!

Then i wondered if i could make one in that lovely tea cup fabric i used for the needlebooks...
*** Kirsty wanders off ... with a glazed look in her fish eye.... thinking about fabrics and colourschemes...
The kitchen is a mess and the dog is eating cold chicken from the dinner table, but nothing can interrupt creative zombie mode.....***

NEW dress x handmade of course...

Not handmade by me but by Abi: Abi has an etsy shop but really her PROPER shop is the best!
There is nothing in Abi's shop but that is because i think her real shop is what it is all about for Abi. It is an Aladdins cave of gorgeous textiles and reconstructed clothes and original patterns and amazing ideas.
Excuse the one-woman fashion show but no photo did this dress real justice...

Look at this cute lining...

I love the pleats...

I adore the back, like a pinafore type design...

Heavy wool fabric in PINK with Aqua wool stitch detail, oh i love it x

And i have been wearing it with my grey tights and green shoes and stripey cardigan....
You could not find this in the High Street. It is why handmade is so amazing and important.
It isn't that i *must* look different and great! It is just that i want to look like 'me'. I want to look how i feel and High Street rarely gives me that feeling that i look like 'me' x
P.s. The Fishmarket in Northampton, UK - "Kismet": If you live locally, go see her.....

Balls of Colour....

I am currently salvaging all my photos from the old computer and attempting to re-organise them in my *new* PC (easier for many Others than it is for me!)
So.... in place of a scintilating new crafty post.... i give you my 3cm great balls of colour.

Fat Cherry Pie - 3 shades of red:

Winter Rabbits - grey, black and white:

The 50 piece multi-colour pack:

Club Tropicana (for the 80's generation):

It is Tuesday again... Let's PARTY!

Sultry me in the very salubrious photography studio, also used as a bathroom. (i hope you can't see up my nose there?) Please note, *NEW* cardie. I rather like my sripey little Thrift find.

Loving this photo ... i want it made into postacards (puts on list of things to do....) pretty pretty pinks and lilacs and yumminess... I am such a *girl* but i make no apologies for that.

Also a good shot ... I am literally on fire today!!! If only i could get ALL the balls in focus :(
New supplies - i tll you, they can inspire you in so many ways x

I call the above balls - "Mouldy Fruit" x

Nice piccy. A supplier sent me this 'ready made' ... listen, it is pretty and all that BUT my etsy customers can do a bit more than that with their balls! Just posted the photo to show you my great new top again and because i just love colour!!!!

My Friend Lu Summers

NO! That isn't Lu (she pretty lady) THAT horror is me....Having trouble sleeping at the moment. Worries about this and that.
Too many late nights sat at the laptop surfing etsy, flickr, etc...

But ooh la la ... LU SUMMERS! A new friend of mine. I feel honoured - look at me rubbing cyber-shoulders with a proper artist person.....
And how lush is this fabric?
And her photos are always so staged and spectacular and enviable ,,, yet so simple and heart warming... go see for yourselves because my stealing her photos doesn't give you the full LU Summers experience -
Lovely Lu sent me these ACE badges that i would love to keep! But hurrah for you guys because i am giving them away in my 'Freebie Bags' when you purchase from the BigFish store x

MMMMMmmmmm Button badges
