A little 1950's Frippery...

My Multi-layered CAKES tin - 'Tala'
Just the name Tala brings me out in a nervous sweat "Tala, what Tala?"
Awesome cream and pistachio green - oh yum! i love that Green so very much.
Excellent condition inside and just nicely scruffy on the outside.
There was a pleasant and amusing incident at the Unit where i bought this (in the Antiques Cellar)
A lady had it in her hand, and i asked her "What price have they got on that" .... "£22" she said.... we both sighed and said "Fair price tho...."
We got in to a right long discussion about life, vintage, ebay, fairs, buying, selling, BMW Mini, and the fact we had both ONLY popped into the Cellar on our way back from Cath Kidston!
Nice to come across a kindred spirit now and again. It made me desperate to be a vintage kitchens buyer . seller.... another lifetime maybe? This one is a little busy.
Also - Kitchen prettiness - this cute set of measuring cups from Waitrose.
I love the USCups system... now i only want US cookbooks as i am so into using cups!
A new CathK cup and saucer to add to the ever-toppling stack.
Building up quite a little stash, didn't mean to....
 Cute, cute, green handled SSscccoooop!
"UGHhh" to the other lady at the Cellar who tried to get off, telling me
"you're only buying this coz it's trendy right now"
 - No Love, i am buying it because it is very useful and pretty. Ignore the fact i have stuck it in the sugar jar, this will be used for scooping lavender into lav cushions as it so much easier than using a funnel, or my fingertips!

And a great picture i bought years ago from Etsy.... must go see where i got it from... give a link...

Frippery? i must be getting my Mojo back a bit?

From Japan....!

I have so much to tell you all about...
Beauties i have been buying, Muchness i have been making, Sweetness to sell...
and THESE fabrics have finally arrived from Kokka in Japan - yippee! Joy because, i have many projects in mind for these!
I love this fabric with it's apples and mushrooms and polka dots (some of it might become a top)

Matroyshka's baby! and i have a whole BOLT of it x x x fresh and funky coloured cotton.
This will be so great when i make it into bunting as it compliments my collection of Cath Kidston fabrics. It has lots of spots and stripes and florals in it so also grrrreat for chopping into teeny tiny projects like hairclips and stuff...

This is just so good it hurts! A thick double weave cotton with a linen quality to it that i adore. the colour is a deep and juicy moss green with 'tea' coloured spots... eeekK

And because i am willing to share.... i am selling a few metres and half metres of each design over on Folksy.... BUY ME HERE but they are limited because i am also quite selfish and want lots for my own projects.
More new-ness and blogging to come soon x

Rocket Man ...WWwhoooossssh...

Shameless self-promotion of my newest NeedleBook!
The "Rocket Man" / Man Book / Space Travel / The whhooosh... Whatever you call it, it was designed with the MAN stitcher in mind (er YES, they do exist!)
4 pages of interesting space type objects to keep those pins and needles in sight and at hand.

Oooh , i am proud of him. He is my first prototype and a second or third design might vary... but for now, here it is!

P.S also saleable to nerdy science type ladies who also like space n' stuff x

Colour Fix

Needing a colour fix!!! However the sun did not show it's cheeky little face this day, so they aren't as bright as i would like. I was up and working at 5.30am and as i watched the sun 'rise' i realised it was getting later and later... and was lighter.... but there was no distinguishable 'rise' of any sun :( MMMMmmm new GREEN shoes from a trip to the "sales" (this is the third pair i have bought in this same design, ,,,,, creature of habit? Moi?) i also bought them in red (hangs head in shame of post-christmas excess)
Learning our numbers through Hopscotch FUN on the floor in the snug.... i was much better at hopscotch than my daughter..... sorry? It wasn't a competition? oh.....

Dressed for a cold Winter walk with dog and child. FAVOURITE red Pea Coat x

Oooh and these... New Dish Cloths. An Impulse buy from an FP etsy treasury x could not resist this pack of 3. I dare not use them

cocoabeans.etsy.com if you want your own.
I L O V E to shop handmade too!!! x
