Dear Ebay Seller...

What made you think that, a thin layer of bubblewrap
and a plastic bag
was adequate postal wrapping
for porcelain bowls?????
I was soooooo looking forward to these pretty china bowls.
I was so excited to find them, win them and receive them.
What made you think you could post them
with no padding and no box?
ANOTHER disappointing Ebay *uck up.
tsk.

Ahhh Birthday-ness!

I want to say THANKYOU for all my birthday merriments and salutations. I am never usually one to 'make a fuss' but it all turned out so pretty!
I had a pile of lovely gifts - don't worry, i won't show you them all.... but very Colourful and Cookery and Cath and Cute...
Mmmmm - Gift Tokens!
Aaaahhh - shopping! Me and the YoungFish under my NEW owl teatowels x PAPERCHASE (on my list of 3 High Street weakness')
Wearing the Tea-towels.... !
Tea and cake at Station Yard Antiques Barn in Chipping Norton. Look at all that lovely crockery!! I was in heaven but ManFish struggled to get his heavy hands around the tea-cup handle (i love him for trying though)

MMMMmm bargain pearl necklace we bought from Past Times for £5

I had my hair cut which is always a nice birthday feeling. My hairdresser doesn't think it looks too red though............. ?! i beg to differ (been trying to cut all that red out)

Blue Wrap Dress has birthday significance as I am wearing it today but it was a thrift find on my birthday travels.
AND - look.... a present to ME from LauraFallulah too! She is a total sweetheart and i adore it!
See you in August my lovely x

Birthday Blogging x

Blog Love and Blue things...

Awwwww - look at us! We are in "Quick & Crafty" magazine!
How lovely is that? I received my complimentry copy in the post this morning - Thankyou so much! I would never have thought other people might appreciate my Colourful and Crafty pursuits so it is such a boost to see the Blog given some love x x
Ha ha ha - Who's that ugly mug in the cheap thrifted beret? Why, tis Moi! BIG hugs to my blog readers for helping me so much and sharing their ideas and inspirational Blogs too (((()))) (that is a cyber hug my friends)

And THIS shot below was taken about 2 hours ago! The ManFish snapped us as we walked out of the 'Antiques Cellar' in Brackley after having snaffled this yummy AQUA painted kitchen chair. I loved it at first sight and it was a bargain, so it needed to come home and be sat on with immediate urgency...

Of course i could have painted one myself - thrifty crafter that I am, but this was £15 and all done for me. I am crafty but I am no fool x

I already have a chair in the kitchen waiting to be painted green... or red... so i didn't want another on 'the list'!!
And as a 'by the way', i thrifted this set of IKEA drawers from my Sister last week. Maybe this awesome turquoise / aqua is what has inspired this LOVE of blue to date?

Today i wore aqua tights, a little aqua v-neck jumper, my blue coat and had my blue Cath K BIG bag.... Is there somebody out there who knows about "Chakras" and colour therapy? What does it mean that I am drawn to this bright blue right now? I'd love to know....

Keep thrifting, keep crafting, keep colourful and keep that tongue firmly in your cheek KirstyFish ;)

Cath Kidston LOVE x

MMmmmnn Bunting! Just congratulating myself (*fish pats herself on back with wet fin*) on making 5 new bunting / pennant lines to put in PaperFish x Naturally using my LOVE of CATH KIDSTON fabrics as the basis. These are the girly ones but the BOYS bunting i will blog *later* as they weren't using CK.... Loving the Fresh, vibrant pinks and orange!

Also mixing blue with red and pink - I think the look of this one came together when i added the darker pinky bias to the top - it sort of held the red and pink together a bit?

I also whipped up a few larger PinPots using some yummy new glossy Aubergine (or 'Egg Plant') paint and.... you guessed it, a Cath Kidston fabric. This only works in a larger pot because the fabric is a thick 'double weave' cotton...

This picture, i love. Reminiscent of a Craft book on thrifted / French vintage style - sigh...

I confess to having more Cath Kidston LOVE to share soon.... (gulp)

Mummy has been decorating ToddleFish bedroom... mmmm...

Mummy got carried away with all the prettiness available for a young girls bedroom and the Cath Kidston webshop.... whoops x

Jingle Bells and Stash

Pretty Bells from Paperchase
(High Street addiction, forgive me? i need a regular fix of Borders bookshop with it's Cafe and Paperchase and late night opening...)
More Matroyshka for Brooches and needlebooks...
More Tea Cup fabric this time in Hot Chocolate...
New curious vintage button linen...
THE cutest blue-bird fabric...

More bells...

And THIS photo, I love! i might get made into Christmas postcards for next year.
Why am I planning Christmas 2009 already??? >>>>>
