This Week, is allll shop News!!...

EEeeep! I have been working so very hard of late.
Working on getting the stock made up for Christmas AND trying to get some of the new designs out of prototype stage and actually into 'production'.
I find this stage exhausting and really wearing - but then, suddenly, i see a stack of freshly sewn items on my table and i feeeel an achievement.
These are Buttony hearts (also seen in a previous post)
i made some last year, for the Craft Stall and they were so popular that i got around to making more for 2011.
I have tried to colour theme them. My utter favourite is the Gingbread Heart (above) but only because i am obsessed with decorating Gingerbread Houses.
So, there is a full set of Felt & Button decorations that *in theory* match 3 colourways:
Bold n Bright
GingerBread World
Red & White.
But that is just like "Show and Tell" at school, because that is not my shop news.
I have a huge range of Buttons arriving, i *hope* this week.
It is good news especially IF you are a craft retailer yourself using any PaperFish Supplies for your Makes....

Watch the Blog if you are keen to know what supplies i can offer you in abundance to get all your projects ready for Christmas (come on it's never too early!!)
I shall be working on Product Information sheets for the Big Range of newbie Buttons.
I shall also try to put together a new Felt Swatch Info. Sheet as requested by a gazillion customers.
So much to do, as always, but i am wonderfully energetic and enthusiastic about this week.
I just love what i do :)

Trade Show *News*...

Well, i had a great day at the Craft Trade Show last week.
It was great to sit and chat to my Button Ladies. It was splendid to listen to that man from Italy... i cannot remember what he was selling now but i'll never forget that voice hahaha.
Naturally, i could have spent a fortune BUT i must draw the line / bag the button somewhere.
Slowly the new products will start to filter into the shops.
The delightful Button bag above is called the "Mary Jane Button Bag" and has 40 buttons in. 10 each of the spots and stripes in *NEW* colours: red and aqua. 2cm wide so a sweet and handy size.
These are BIGS! and measure 4cm / 1.5inch. Whoppers! and what great colours? I loved the Red, Aqua and Raspberry the best so i am now stocking these in Etsy & http://www.lovepaperfish.com/ more colours may follow...
I thought i was going to like the spots best... but i don't! i find myself draaaawn to that giant candy stripe. *must find suitable project for these* but i do have a coat that would wear these beauties very well. I might stop stocking all other craft items and stick with buttons? there are sooo many to choose from. Pur delight.
Also: LovePaperFish is carrying these super sweet POLKA PAIRS - for those of you who just don't craft 'that much' and only want 2 of each colour - but trust me, i started selling them like this and nearly every customer came back for a big bag.
Also very cute gifts for party favours at a Teen craft party.
This blog might be slowly inundated with new shop products. Forgive me? i have to tell you about them... they might be the very thing you've been waiting for?

Room for more Buttons?

You might be **amazed** to hear that i have managed to find a colour of button that i didn't have in stock. Yes - that is right, there is another colour you may, or may not, need:
Helloooo..... Chocolate Brown!!
We call him Charlie Brown and this colour is like a deep, high cocoa content chocolate. I want to eat them. I want to eat most of my buttons actually, but these are particularly good for PMS (to imagine eating... not actually eating) Earthy and Autumnal... would i be mad to say 'too much colour' is a bad thing on occasion? and sometimes we want a more muted shade to play with.
For those of you who knit and / or like a more muted tone for your projects - there are a few pairs of larger 5cm buttons in the Etsy shop: http://bigfish.etsy.com/
And these are a limited edition set of Vintage Plastic buttons - with shank reverse, ideal for jewelery.
A deco or Arts & Craft feel to the design.
And this is the cheeky fella who has been ram-raiding the Peanut stock in our Garden.
Feeling so Autumny now. LittleFish and I met a Badger out when we were Hallowe'en-ing last night. Cool to live in the Country x

and Sherbet Stripe Buttons...

Couldn't resist these....
Perfect colours for your Spring Projects...

Just under 2cm each = 3/4inch.
A snip at £4.50 / $9.00 for 10

Some *new* supplies...

It was about time I feel!?
A few new supplies for the BigFish shop... I couldn't wait till i played with them myself - i had to put them up straight away!
Cute pom-poms, in 'mini' size...
Oh GOSH and DARN i love these Berry Buttons soooo much - i didn't want to sell them but i do get a certain joy from sharing my finds and saying "LOOK - these ROCK!"

I wish they had these in different colours too :(

Packs of wooden buttons - i am using these for some Folky Christmas decorations soooo i bought a few extra and bagged them up for anyone else who wants a bit of a woodland feel button.
Mother of Pearl - now, these are not made in the UK and I am not sure I ethically approve of MOP being harvested... the supplier said these were second hand from a closing down warehouse so i bought some thinking there was an element of the 'thrift' about them. Please don't shoot me....
Buttony love x x x

HA! look at me...!

Whew.... what a week (or two ) that i've been having!
My mobile phone has long since been on it's 'way out'...
Then my camera broke :( - you know how sad that makes me...
THEN my sewing machine broke.... What's a girl to do? Sit and cry or get shopping?

Well, i started with a fruity new phone - and THESE photos have been uploaded from my mobile! "You're kidding!?" - pretty cool huh? Then i got myself a fantastic sewing machine £100 - it's been 're-conditioned, so i figured i'd have a better chance that this baby works like a dream. It arrived about 2 hours ago and i'm just getting comfortable on it.
It arrived with a million free threads in gorgeous colours, which is always nice!

BUT, before the machine arrived, i was getting on with these Brooches which are all part of the Christmas Collection for my travelling Craft Stall. Yummy Woolly Flower button brooches.

I adore these colours and the chunky buttons.
I am thinking these photos are quite good, considering they are from a mobile phone!?
Was also working on some new Badge Party Packs.
I haven't worked up the courage to buy my new camera yet. It is alot of pretty pennies and i have a small hope my engineering dad can fix my old faithful???

I am E X H A U S T E D!! - techno stress. Life in the fast lane.
Did i prefer my life 3 years ago when i couldn't even turn a computer on without written instructions...... ? x

Why d'ya have to go and put stars in my eyes?

New Buttons....
I know!!
...in some ways I am perhaps overwhelming a customer with choice?
But as a 'seller' of buttons, if i make a decision that i want a certain type of button for my own projects, then it makes sense to sell a few too? How could i resist their colour?
Their vibrancy?
Their spots (and stripes!)
These are the sort of buttons that get a project noticed... I actually feel 'stressed' as my head is exploding with ideas for them.

They are the most expensive sets of buttons i sell.
I worry, maybe they are too much for people to want to indulge in? But they aren't the sort of button you will smother a project with? They are the last embellishment. The 'icing on the cake'. The button that makes people look twice?

I can't wait for my next Craft Fair as these buttons will look so yummy on the PaperFish stall - my first plan is make some Bobby Pins / Hair Slides and matching rings as I'm sold out of these thanks to my lovely girls at Weston Fair last week (***WAVES*** at the young ladies - you know who you are!)
But it has taken me FOREVER to price these, bag them, list them in the shops... I now have button fatigue - YES, it is possible!
I NEED to sew some bunting or a brooch or some Schrooooms to help me feel human again.
IF you want to see where i sell (it isn't compulsory y'know, i don't charge for drooling over the pictures! haha)
