in my car, i am king....

i took these photos a while back... as a planned page for one of my 'scrapbooks'.
i don't know whether there are others *out there* who feel the way i do about driving? i am so very thankful my parents made me learn to drive the day i turned 17yrs.... in my car, i am king. Not in an arrogant, road rage kind of a way, but in a way that makes me feel SUPERB! i love the freedom that my car affords me. My driving licence is the passport that tells me, each and every morning "today, you can do whatever you want. You can go wherever you chose...." and in that breath, i feel totally free. i would give up so many things in my life, long before i gave up my right to drive.

The passenger seat carries my essentials: Shopping that i got. The handbag i take with me. The scarf i might need if i feel like one.... an old apple core... the foot well filled with half drunk bottles of water.

The car is mine and mine alone. i choose the time. i choose the pace. i choose the music. i choose the place.

In the RAIN, it is pure heaven. I adore the water lashing at the windscreen and the radio up half blast (hey, i'm no teenager with mega speaker systems...)

the world is my oyster.

my daugter always sleeps peacefully, strapped into the backseat.

I'm not a particularly 'good' driver and but, since my attendance at "speed school" i am a safer driver.

I wonder if MrsB has this sense of control, freedom, adultness, peace, when she runs?

Yes, i scrapbook too!...

So, i used my new stash for:
A page for 'My' book - the cutout city scape paper and the number stamps... A work in progress (the page and the child)

Lots of papers and sparkle stickers...

Hand and machine sewing on this polka dot and birdy page...

I was really pleased with how this idea turned out... a strip of Owls with ribbon tags all the way down either side... a page about 'Tuesdays with Daddy' x

There was more, but this was a little taster. Scrapbooking is really something i do for me and it's nice to share but it's nice to keep some things 'just for me' x

Just *had* to buy the new crafty range from AMERICAN CRAFTS x
Oh the joy... I don't get much time to scrap anymore what with a vey active 5yr old and my lovely crafting business, but these inspired me straight away...

Plus the Polka Dots (lurve) and the Owls and the Birdies....

And then some house / suburban / urban living scapes too, I have already used some of alllll these designs.

And these fantastic Doodle-style number stamps.

ScrapBook Inspirations Magazine

Yippee - Thankyou to Rosie at Scrapbook Inspirations for including me in their section this month "Handmade Heaven". It is a lovely ego massage to see my work in print. Especially lovely as i am a long time subscriber to the magazine and keen Scrapbooker myself. The item in print was, of course, a Darling Dachsund NeedleBook - photographed with the puppy Brooches below...

And Rosie gave my two supplies shop a little 'plug' - FuzzyFish and BigFish which I thank you for Rosie!! - That is my little 2 minutes of fame below...

So - i make a resolve! I WILL make a greater attempt to photograph and share some of the scrapbook pages i have worked on over the years. The pages below were pages i had been working on for my album "All About Me" but most of my albums are dedicated to the SmallFish who has merited much photography over her short 4.5 yrs so far!
