Party 'Going Home' bags...

I don't know what happens in other countries...? but in the UK it is traditional to be sent home from a Childs Birthday Party with a 'Going Home Bag'...
Inside is often a slice of the Birthday Cake (wrapped accordingly) and a few gifts to play with on the E-high trip home. A regular, local customer asked me if i could make her some fabric 'Party Bags' for her daughters birthday and i said 'yes' - inwardly panicking!! WHAT OUT OF? Do i have time....??
Yum Yum - i had to share the finished result with you all. WHAT do you make Party Bags out of when your home is FULL of felt? sat next to a bolt of beautiful Matroyshka fabric...

So i made her 10 different coloured bags with different coloured handles and dolls on the front. They are actually much BRIGHTER than these photos suggest but hey! guess what? it rained again today...

And i knew that you'd all appreciate their colour, sense of fun, frivolity - i had to take a million photos of them in different layouts.
Now i want to make loads of them, and for boys too and sell them in the shop... "Kirsty - you do not have any spare minute left in your days..." - "But they're soooo pretty"
Awwww, makes me think i might make a few for a certain little Nephews Birthday though....

They are really lovely - and much better than plastic ones from petrochemicals which get thrown away immediately! I made some fabric ones for a 9th birthday last year and they were a great hit - and with such nice bags you don't have to buy a load of junk to put in them - they are presents in themselves.

oooooh - I might need to get some of them once they're in your shop ! I've got my little girl's 4th birthday and my little boy's 7th birthday coming up .... within 4 days of each other- arghhhh. If I was clever enough to make them myself I would, but they would NEVER be as good as yours :o) sarah x

How fab! And also how noughties that the bags are reusable - when I was little enough for party bags, they were made of plastic so shoddy they normally broke before I got home!

Yet again... I'm with Pomona... I made extra large ones for children with special needs so that they could have their hands guided into a bag which could cope with them. The bags contained "stuff" that worked individually for them. Kirsty Fish, you are a star!

we use to get sent home with party bags with small cheap toys in them but never cake! would have preferred the cake lol

your bags look great, nice bright colours and much better then the plastic or paper bags we got when we were kids

Those bags are really cute. I love the bright colours and the felt. Here the children receive little bags with some treats in them too, mostly candy, and I have been thinking about what I want to do when my little ones start throwing parties. I think these little bags are a perfect idea to start out with! Thanks for sharing.

wow, what a fab idea... if you had them in your shop people might buy a button or badge to go in it as a gift... I love little bags... especially really pretty ones...

These are so lovely and i am so in awe of your creativity. I've avoided party bags as usually it is just a bag of plastic junk but i would put cake in these ones.
