Bedside Thrift joy x

So, shoot me - i forgot to take a 'before' photo so you could really appreciate the transformation of this neat little desk / bureau...
It was a heavily dark stained piece of 70's furniture but in REALLY good condition - £4 from the Recycling centre!
Stripped down with deadly "Nitromors" (rubber gloves, industrial strength needed) Before.... oh lordy, this area beside my bed was choking with dust and filled - just FILLED with piles of magazines, stock catalogues, books, journals, pens, beauty products, old cups of water...
Look at it now!! i can breathe, i can move, i can get into my bed!
The key to lock this opening desk part was STILL with the cabinet - what a find.
I toyed with the idea of putting crazy new drawer knobs on but these are are fixed so very beautifully, it would be a crime.
The desk comes down so i can write on it if i want - or, more importantly, i can reach my cup of tea....
(note to self: must get a new lamp at the Car Boot tomorrow too...)

Me = happy with new cabinet and happy because i had a fantastic break this week x x x

Cheesy fish grin :)

Ah yes, good old Nitromoors..... was that photo taken after inhaling the fumes in an enclosed space? Let me repeat what I said to your good friend Mrs B: "Breathe in through the nose... out through the mouth....." Ha! Ha!.... great bureau and glad you had wonderful break. x
